The Women and Diversity in Law Awards 2027

Nominations Opening Soon!

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2027 Women and Diversity in Law Awards, which will take place in London in April.

This is your chance to participate in a memorable awards ceremony, hosted by an inspirational celebrity, when we will celebrate the achievements of the people helping to make the UK legal sector more inclusive.

To cast our net as widely as possible, we are encouraging individuals and teams to nominate themselves and others across the range of categories.

The awards are divided into three sections. In the first half, Outstanding Women Leaders and Outstanding Women Practitioners will be recognised. The second section addresses diversity more broadly, seeking to highlight stand-out initiatives helping to improve workplace culture and boost equal opportunities, making the profession more reflective of the society it serves.

The deadline for nominations is 15 October. Nominees will then be invited to submit entries for consideration by a high-level judging panel made up of recognised diversity experts and champions.

This is your chance to say a big, collective ‘thank you’ to those who are dedicating their professional careers to moving the D&I needle or using their positions of influence to help facilitate change

An opportunity to showcase the role models who are inspiring people from under-represented groups and the initiatives that are making a difference. In so doing we will also provide a forum for the sharing of ideas and best practice.

The winners will be announced at our Awards Dinner in April 2027

Last year, women legal practitioners from firms including Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, Linklaters, Cooley and BCLP were among those honoured at the event, which was attended by 450 people and hosted by Donna Fraser, director of people, equity, diversity and inclusion at the Professional Cricketers Association, and a four-time Olympian for Great Britain.

Winners included Children Not Numbers co-founder Somaya Ouazzani, who won the prestigious Woman of the Year award for her work in Gaza supporting children with medical care, education and international advocacy.

Also among those honoured was former Law Society of England and Wales president Lubna Shuja, who won the Outstanding Achievement award for her contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, including being the first Asian and first Muslim to lead the society since it was founded in 1825.

In her acceptance speech, Shuja acknowledged the importance of having a good support network to help women succeed in their legal careers, saying: “We are here because of our allies, our families and our colleagues, those people who guided us, who gently pushed us further than we thought we were ready to go.
