Lucy is an independent consultant and coach to barristers and sets of chambers, advising on commercial strategy, culture, wellbeing and retention. She spent over 20 years as a practice manager and barristers’ clerk, giving her a detailed, practical understanding of how chambers operate day to day and how barristers build and sustain successful careers at the Bar. She is known for her ability to balance commercial realities with people-focused leadership, and for acting as a trusted adviser on sensitive and complex issues.
Alongside her consultancy work, Lucy is Chair of the Equality & Diversity Committee of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and a member of the Harman Review reference group. She has contributed to initiatives with the Commercial Bar Association and the Chancery Bar Association focused on the retention and progression of women at the Bar, supporting returners from parental leave, and addressing wellbeing and burnout.
Lucy was featured in The Lawyer Hot 100 in 2024 and she was the winner of the Women and Diversity in Law Award for Unsung Hero in Leadership in 2023. Her work draws on a unique perspective combining long standing clerking experience, coaching expertise and sector-wide engagement across the Bar.
